certified arborists, ISA, tree care

There is a big distinction between a “tree guy” and a certified arborist. While an arborist is defined as someone who specializes in the care of trees, a certified arborist has proven his/her knowledge in the art and science of tree care by passing an exam, administered by a state organization and/or the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Once certified, the arborist must maintain their credentials by obtaining continuing education credits, attending conferences, seminars and other educational events. Because of these requirements, certified arborists will be the most up to date on the latest technology and information available in the proper care of trees and shrubs.

A certified arborist has proven his/her knowledge in the art and science of tree care by passing an exam.

Look closely at this tree that was “pruned” by a tree guy:

Not only was the choice to remove that entire leader questionable, but the poor cuts and long stubs are atrocious examples of tree care… Not to mention the broken, hanging limbs still left in the tree, creating a safety hazard as well.

ArborTech was called to the jobsite and remedied the exceptionally poor work done by the previous company. The result was a much happier client and tree!

Hiring a certified arborist is a smart choice when caring for your home and landscape. It pays to have a professional do a professional job. Certified arborists have the skill, knowledge and experience to perform the art and science of tree care correctly.

At Arbortech Tree Services, we have a commitment to safety, professionalism and maintain industry affiliations and certifications.
