Maintaining the health of your trees and shrubs is a great investment for your landscape; an effective maintenance program can detect problems and correct them before they cause permanent damage.
Healthy trees increase in value with age, providing cooling shade and protection to your landscape. Regular inspections and scheduled maintenance by ArborTech’s Certified Arborists will stimulate proper growth of trees and shrubs and preserve the health of your plants throughout the year, beautifying your surroundings.
Plant Health Care Program
What is Plant Health Care (PHC)? The objective of any PHC program is to maintain or improve a tree’s health, safety and vitality. While insect and disease management is included in a PHC Program, there are a number of tools utilized in maintaining plant health. Very often, by the time people call a tree service with a concern, it is too late for any effective action. A tree care management plan is a pro-active investment in your home landscape. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, our Certified Arborists have the knowledge and experience to bring your landscape back to a desirable state. Renewal options include ridding beds of leaves and other debris; removing and treating invasive plants; and pruning to reduce plant size and invigorate plant health. If removal of a plant is the only option, our Certified Arborists can recommend plant varieties that require less maintenance and grow to a limited size. We also offer edging and mulching to give your landscape a fresh contemporary look while promoting plant vitality. Click here to read more about the programs we offer.
Our Certified Arborists can determine the cause of a plant disorder no matter how challenging the symptoms. Sources of stress can stem from a living organism (biotic) such as insects, pests or pathogens, or from non-living (abiotic) sources that may include mechanical damage or over irrigation. Our Certified Arborists have years of field experience and are involved in ongoing education to keep up with the latest in tree and shrub disorders. After a diagnosis, they can provide you with treatment options. Click here to read more about the programs we offer.
ArborTech offers many options that can help revive plants that suffer from these common landscape problems. Our supersonic, air tool blasts air into the earth, faster than the speed of sound, to till the soil back to a more natural state, which provides optimum conditions for root growth. Compost can be incorporated to further improve soil conditions and a layer of mulch can be added to retain moisture and increase aesthetic look of your landscape. ArborTech provides other root services such as root collar excavation to expose and remove circling roots that can sever the vascular system, leading to the decline of your tree. To properly fertilize these plants, we use a sub-surface probe to inject tree and shrub specific nutrients into the root zone of the plants. Our product contains slow release nutrients that trees need to thrive, plus natural soil microbes that act as “plant probiotics.” Our fertilizer can help a tree that may be lacking a single mineral or aid a shrub-bed that was planted in nutrient depleted construction fill. Pruning can also provide clearance from objects, promote fruit production and encourage new growth. To further increase the benefits of pruning, ArborTech offers an Annual Maintenance Pruning Program (AMP Program).
More about the Benefits of AMP
Pruning is most beneficial when performed on an annual basis. In Arboriculture this is defined as Annual Maintenance Pruning. Annual pruning helps maintain a desirable and attractive, natural shape while enhancing the beauty and health of your landscape. When growing fruit trees, pruning is necessary to develop a strong, structured tree to maintain tree vigor, control size, and produce abundant, high quality fruit. Pruning is also necessary to keep branches from interfering with structures, lighting, pedestrians, or vehicle traffic.
When there is a structural defect, a properly installed support system has the potential to reduce the risk of failure. A support system may also prolong the life of a tree that has stress fractures by limiting the advancement of the injury. Click here to read more about the programs we offer.
